New Trailer Sign Is Stolen Across From Asante Housing Development

Scottsdale, AZ – Ripson Homes, a Scottsdale based home builder since 2001, had just completed the installation of its outdoor billboard program for its new housing development when a felony crime was committed at the corner of 163rd Avenue and Asante Boulevard in Surprise, Arizona. A billboard sign valued at $2,800 was stolen from the side of a semi-trailer between March 25 and 27th, 2009.

Ripson Homes' goal in placing the sign was to compare and contrast its new Sonoran Acres development, which offers semi-custom new homes on one acre lots (at least 43,560 sf), with the new homes offered by Lennar Homes in Asante where the homes are constructed on much smaller lots, typically around 7,000 square feet. The sign had been placed on a parcel of land directly across the street from the Lennar Homes new subdivision.

The sign was installed on March 20 with a 53 foot sign attached for the Ripson Homes project that read the following:

Ripson Homes
Semi-Custom Homes on ACRE LOTS
From the Mid $200’s
Sonoran Acres
Right on Grand
Left on Patton
And just Minutes Away
877 OWN 1 ACRE

A report was filed with the Surprise police department on March 29, 2009. Anyone with information about this crime should contact the Surprise police department.
